Lou Pearlman, the man behind boy bands Backstreet Boys and ‘N SYnc, was handed a maximum 25 year sentence in federal prison for cheating investors out of thousands of dollars.
Since the 1980s, Pearlman has scammed $300 million from investors, who were mostly his friends and relatives-SAY WHAT- in their 70s and 80s.
To be fair, U.S. District Judge G. Kendall, who presided over the case, said he would reduce Pearlman’s sentence one month for every $1 million that was paid back to investors.
