Photo Taken from a previous show On the eve of the all important Pennsylvania primary, Senator Barack Obama lightened things up with an interview on the Daily Show on Comedy Central.
Appearing via satellite, host Jon Stewart and the candidate discussed topics ranging from the “Republican attack machine” to the Obama’s plans for the White House.
Wearing a blue striped tie, the Senator from Illinois had high hopes for the next day’s election, stating that the weather had been good and he was hoping for a high turnout.
He also mentioned that, while still down six to eight points in the polls, his campaign has done a great job in overcoming their original 20 point deficit.
Obama also talked about how his campaign experience allowed him to come into contact with great people and how impressed he was with Americans as a whole.
He noted how he has seen the “common decency and generosity of the American people” throughout his entire campaign.
Finally, the candidate quelled the host’s fears that once elected Obama would enslave the white race.
He wittily retorted,
That is not our plan, Jon, but I think your paranoia might make you suitable as a debate moderator.”
