Welcome to the Dollhouse is a certified club banger, and proves to be a step in the right direction for the girls of Danity Kane. Diddy’s Angels evolve into their own and prove they are here to stay with this gutsy sophomore effort.

The album begins by declaring the girl’s new image on the upbeat and energetic track ‘Bad Girl’ and continues to rock the house thereafter. Though the album features several different production styles—many reflective of 80s/90s pop music— they ultimately blend together creating a unique R&B/Pop sound.

Diddy hires an all star cast of producers—Bryan Michael Cox, The Runners, Danja, Seven Aurelius and Stereotypes — along with others to deliver a sound that sets the disc a part from most of today’s mainstream music. ‘Strip Tease’ is a tasteful but super sexy cut with a beat that one can’t help but get down to.

However, the album isn’t overwhelmingly upbeat. The ballad ‘Poetry’ slows it down some and provides an adequate example of the girl’s vocal abilities. Still, the up-tempo tracks overpower the ballads. “Welcome to the Dollhouse” is a hit from beginning to end and marks the successful rebirth of Danity Kane. Listeners won’t want to leave the Dollhouse after their first visit.
