The downward spiral continues.

Barely two weeks after an embarrassing performance on the MTV Music Video Awards and days after a court order for random drug testing, Britney Spears has been charged with a misdemeanor for hit-and-run and driving without a license. If convicted, Spears faces up to a year in the pokey.

The accident took place Aug 6 in Studio City, CA but Spears was not charged until Friday. According to police reports, the accident was captured on video tape. In the video, Spears is attempting to park her Mercedes-Benz convertible but grazes a Mercedes station wagon in the process.
