At this point it is just shy of a publicity stunt.

50 Cent and Kanye West recently posed together for the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. The two even did a joint interview for the magazine’s Web site.

And they are suppose to be feuding?

Both rappers admitted that they saw each other as competition, something that is lacking in today’s hip-hop.

“When I heard he was in the studio with Timbaland, I was like ‘ah this niggas cheating,” West said during an interview with Rolling Stones online, with 50 sitting next to him.

There was nothing combative or hostile about their interview together. They even seemed, well, friendly, while giving props to one another and laughing and joking.

But does this mean 50 will retire from the mic if Kanye outsells him? The topic never came up but West did say the anticipation on their September 11 release date has become an event.

“This is the most talked about release date since since 50’s album dropped,” West said.
