Scandalized Idaho Senator Larry Craig (R-Id) may or may not be gay.

He may or may not have broken the law.

He may or may not have violated the ethical code for U.S. Senators.

But one thing for certain, Craig is a flip-flopper on his own decisions.

Last week, Craig flip-flopped on a decision he made in August to plead guilty to lewd conduct in a Minneapolis men’s bathroom, stating that pleading guilty was a miscalculated “mistake”. Craig said he was just trying to keep his arrest under wraps.

After a week of public outcry following the revelation of his actions, Craig resigned last Saturday.
I apologize for what I have caused,” Craig said, his wife Suzanne and two of their three children at his side with a historic Boise train station as backdrop. “I am deeply sorry.”

Many top Republican leaders praised Craig’s decision.

Today, Craig is flip-flopping on his decision to resign.

It’s not such a foregone conclusion anymore that the only thing he could do was resign,” said Sidney Smith, Craig’s spokesman.

“We’re still preparing as if Sen. Craig will resign Sept. 30, but the outcome of the legal case in Minnesota and the ethics investigation will have an impact on whether we’re able to stay in the fight — and stay in the Senate.”

Craig is already gearing up for a fight, he’s hired a prominent lawyer to investigate the possibility of reversing his plea and CNN’s Dana Bash reported that Craig has spent a few days calling fellow GOPers trying to garner up support.

This latest turn in the Saga of Senator Craig is bound to make GOP leaders very unhappy as they strive to quickly wrap up the scandal before it taints the election cycle.

As for Craig, in my opinion, in addition to his insincere actions, his lack of conviction in what he says and does leaves much to be desired in a Senator.

By his own statements, Craig is only showing the public that his decisions are guided by politics and not what is righteous.
