Yeah it maybe only $23,000, but nevertheless…New York Sen. Hillary Clinton will give donations from a supporter who has an outstanding arrest warrant in California to a charity.

Norman Hsu, a powerful Democratic fundraiser, who has recently raised curious eyebrows over his fundraising, apparently also has an outstanding arrest warrant since ’91.

Hsu is wanted because he failed to appear for sentencing in a criminal case in which he had pleaded guilty to grand theft. Yesterday Hsu said he was “surprised to learn” of the warrant.

      In a statement, Hsu said:

I have not sought to evade any obligations and certainly not the law.”

Just curious. How does someone forget to appear for sentencing of grand theft?

In light of the new information regarding Mr. Hsu’s outstanding warrant in California, we will be giving his contributions to charity,” said Clinton spokesman Phil Singer.

Aside from the $23,000 he directly raised for Clinton, Hsu might have also indirectly raised an additional $45,000. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that six members of the family of a San Francisco mail carrier have donated a total of $45,000 to Clinton since 2005. The donations show ties to Hsu.
