Thomas Weeks, the man accused of beating his wife Evangelist Jaunita Bynum earlier this week, was released on bond Friday.

Known by millions as a Bishop and co-founder of the Global Destiny Church in Duluth, GA , Weeks turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Weeks’ bond was set at $30,000 for a aggravated assault charge and $10,000 for terroristic threats. He spent six hours in a county jail before being released.

Weeks is accused of attacking Bynum during a meeting between the two at hotel to discuss reconciliation. The couple had been estranged for two months.

According to police reports Bynum was chocked, knocked to the ground and kicked. Attorneys for Weeks told reporters that he is “extremely sad over the events that have taken place,” adding that “I think there is hope on his part that the relationship can get past these difficult moments.”

      1. I think the Bishop should really be ashamed of himself. and afraid because not only does he have to answer to the laws of the land, but he can be sure there will be a spiritual price he will pay, how can he teach others about love and forgiveness and how we should conduct ourselves as children of God the most High when he’s acting like a crazy person that doesn’t know God at all. I know we all make mistakes and there is none perfect, but there is no excuse for a man any man to be hitting a woman, espeacially the one he says he loves. God bless you and I will be praying for you.
